Bad Credit Car Loan – No Deposit or Money Down!

June 17th, 2011

Bad Credit Car Dealerships

When you approach a car dealership looking to get approved for bad credit car loans, provided that there is no deposit or no money down can be a very painful. Most salesman will always ask you to put money down and the reason behind it was never really clear.

Do you need a down payment to get approved? It seems unlikely that the lender will require a certain amount down just to give you approved for a car loan. While the salesman would say it shows an act of "engagement" on your part, does not seem logical.

The reason for the payment of the deposit or down is not necessary just because of how the financial manager at the dealer can adjust the figures to reflect the advances that do not exist. By simply raising the price of the car for $ 1,000.00, and then shows a "down payment" of $ 1,000.00, did not affect the bottom line a bit.

This is the most all> Dealers move numbers around to show the lender that you have the cash advances. Is this true? It's up to you. This happens all the car dealers national day.

Therefore require a deposit for a car loan is really not something required by the lender. Although lenders may see the sale price of the vehicle as irrational, and therefore do not allow the promotion of the full amount, there is no logical reason that the deposit(Advance) is a condition of approval auto loans. Even with bad credit.

Bad Credit Auto Financing – What Do You Need to Get in Your Own Car?

June 16th, 2011

Bad Credit Car Dealerships

Do you really want to get a car but have bad credit? Do you need to get a better car but you had a recent bankruptcy and worry that no one will offer you credit? There are many companies and car dealerships that cater to those with bad credit and this article tells you what to look for and what you need to qualify.

Bad credit Auto financing

1. Is your credit score lower than 680? In today’s lending world this puts you below the desired credit rating to get a loan from a traditional lender such as your bank. This means you will need to go to either a car dealership or online for financing.

It is a good idea to get your free credit report online. This gives you a chance to see if there is anything that you can remove such as an old lien or any mistakes (potentially embarrassing things to discover at the car dealership)

2. Do you have a job? This will help you get financed. By having proof of employment and proof of your ability to get car insurance you have an increased opportunity to get auto financing.

3. It is a good idea to shop for financing before going shopping for a car, this gives you an idea of what you will be eligible to buy so secure financing first. For this reason I recommend shopping online for bad credit auto financing instead of going to a car dealer to get financing. By having the loan when you walk into a dealership you have more control over the deal and the car salesman will be happy to work within your price range and this may also help you avoid the need for a down payment.

Bad Credit – What the Car Dealerships Don’t Want You to Know About Your Financing

June 15th, 2011

Bad Credit Car Dealerships

If you finance your car at the dealership it may not be yours. You may have been the victim of what is termed in the industry as a “spot delivery”. What is a spot delivery? The dealership makes the decision to let you take the vehicle home and sign all the paperwork without having your loan approved by the bank.  They may not even have a good faith belief they can get you approved for the vehicle you take home. Why would they do this?

It takes you out of the market. You are no longer shopping for a car. They have your business so you can’t go anywhere else and buy.
It gives them time to send your credit application to several banks to see if they can obtain an approval.
They know if you take the vehicle home and show your friends and family you will be more likely to pay more down payment or a higher payment to keep it.
It’s a dirty secret of the car business. Days, weeks, months after you drive your new car home you may get a phone call asking for the following:

More down payment
A co-signer
Or they may say they need to get something signed, and when you get there the terms have changed and the loan is longer or the interest rate higher, raising the payment
The car dealerships rarely tell you they don’t have your loan approved. Somewhere in the endless papers you signed will be an agreement that will  contain the terms of the spot delivery. It will state that if your loan is not purchased by a bank or finance company that you agree to bring the vehicle back and may even charge you for mileage while you have the vehicle. The car dealership may say they have sold the trade in so you feel forced to sign under the new terms of the loan. The dealership may threaten to report the car stolen or that it will show as a repossession if you do not sign the new paperwork.

If you become a victim of a spot delivery don’t fall for their scams. You do not have to sign a new contract. You are entitled to have your down payment and trade in returned to you. It will not reflect on your credit. Unfortunately most victims of spot deliveries tend to be customers with less than perfect credit. Car dealerships know they will not have as many options available to them and may prey on their desperation.

What to watch for and how to tell if your being spot delivered:

They don’t give you a copy of your contract
You sign an agreement stating the dealership has a certain amount of time to get your loan approved (they may explain this form away as something else so read carefully)
You may be asked to sign blank paperwork or more than one contract
Ask lots of questions and read everything carefully. As a finance manager I have no problem explaining the complicated paperwork or when customers take extra time to look over what they are signing. Ask if your loan is approved and what bank it is approved with. Get a copy of the contract you signed.
